![]() Welcome to Art Paradise in Portugal! My name is Margarida Alberty and I'm 56 years old. Although I'm a native Portuguese I feel more like an international person. I can speak
7 different languages! This is because I've been teaching Portuguese to the foreign
community all my life and have always been surrounded by people from all over the
world. I love that and I've made very good friends.
I'm a cheerful person and love to have fun and enjoy life.
I've been running my own Language School for the past 31 years:
have a look at: www.margaridaschool.com But... I've always been passionate for all kinds of art expression. I love Performing Arts and started a project that takes me on stage twice a year with MUSICALS (in English) I write scripts and make them happen, directing 2 groups of talented children at the theatre and at my studio where we make the props and the costumes too. Have a look at: www.patiodosartistas.com Finally I took some art courses in different areas and consider myself an adventurer... I love the creative part of exploring new techniques and apply them freely. After having had the wonderful experience of doing 3 workshops with 2 great american artists Misty Mawn and Michael De Meng, I decided I wanted to become a full time artist. I will be teaching at ART-IS-YOU Retreats in the USA (Stamford) in October 2012! www.art-is-you.com I love covering a bit of everything: jewellery, creative sewing, mixed media, pottery, tile painting, altered art, styrofoam sculpture, and others... I'm fortunate enough to own an old haberdashery shop called FANTASIA that supplies me with different materials to use in my crafts. Then I can sell there everything I make. Have a look at: www.retrosariafantasia.com So I thought: I wish I could bring over some international artists and students for an Art Retreat in Portugal and combine it with Portuguese culture, fun activities and sightseeing. WOW! Misty Mawn inspired me so much that I decided to take another workshop with her in Italy. This whole thing convinced me even more of my previous thoughts, because now I'm sure I can offer you:
Another good point: Most Portuguese can speak English and...they are the most welcoming people in Europe! So here am I inviting you to join me on this amazing discovery... Please come in:My studio is called " PÁTIO DOS ARTISTAS" It is located in Cascais only 5 minutes by taxi from Art Paradise Accommodation. |
