As of 1996 I have been painting at the Manuel Marques Antunes ceramic workshop in Bicesse,
near Lisbon. I have discovered that hand-painting tiles is the technique that best matches the
nature of my artistic spirit. I have fallen in love with traditional Portuguese ceramic art and do
restoration work and hand-paint panels.

The magical transformation of colour in the kiln, where it becomes brilliant and eternal, inspires me
to work at my art.

Tiles before being fired.....at 1300 degrees!
